MY LIFE, MY ART - SUMMER ART 2014
Everybody’s life is a work of art! What does yours look like?
Kids of all ages love making art, its just part of who they are. You can put art materials in front of them and they fearlessly create. In this course we’ll take what is already there, although sometimes undiscovered, and fan that flame. Making art increases self-confidence and their ability to create. All our projects are designed to be fun and surprising. Students will be introduced to new art materials and techniques and within every project students are encouraged to express themselves and be free to explore their own creativity—the best way to learn. At this stage of a young person’s life, having fun creating is the best way to foster a life-long love and appreciation for art.
Just so the other half of their brains doesn’t feel left out we’ll also do a little writing and “playing with words”. Written journal entries occasionally incorporated into the artwork help kids expand and better communicate on what’s in their hearts and on their minds.
At the end of the course, your child will come home with an artist’s journal bulging with original artwork. They will be thrilled to tell you all about their art. Spend some time talking with them about how each piece was made and what they were trying to say with it— you can be assured they will be proud of their artist journal!
We’ll also log in and update daily right here on this website so you can keep up on what we're doing each day.
